At that point I had no sound base to construct my religious beliefs upon.

Exhaustion. It becomes us easily. When in a spot and time we develop such capacities to 'keep up' we're ironically clamouring for air because the waters within our chamber gently but inevitably rise threatening our skywardly stretched noses. We feel the bubbles tickle our nostrils and that we wonder how long it will likely be prior to the end approaches; we're drowning emotionally and spiritually. Overload is quite unsustainable.
